Cleveland State Women's Swimming & Diving Have Strong Showing on Day Two of Magnus Cup

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Vikings remain in ninth with 167 points after two days of the 2023 Magnus Cup Invitational.  With one day left, Akron sits atop the leaderboard with 978.5 points, FGCU is second with 575 points, and Northern Colorado is third with 559.5 points.

Brooke Eichel placed eleventh in 1m diving with 221.85 points.

The Green and White opened the meet with a 16th-place finish in the 200-yard medley as Audrey Butcher, Grace Chelf, Tess Walsh, and Grace Butcher clocked a 1:44.57.

Kellsie Krisch won the C-final of the 400-yard IM after swimming a 4:32.36.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Madison Taker placed eighteenth, finishing the event in 56.88.

Ana Sofia Sousa won the 200-yard freestyle B-finals after touching in 1:50.57, the sixth fastest time in program history.

G. Butcher claimed the sixteenth slot in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking a 1:04.86.

A. Butcher took the top spot in the C-final of the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 56.29.

Taker, Sousa, Kayla Brock, and G. Butcher capped off the evening with a tenth-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle, finishing in 7:35.70.
