CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State University swimming & diving coach Hannah Burandt announced the fourth signee on the women's side for the Class of 2023, Gretchen Chelf.

Chelf is from Wooster, Ohio, and swam at Wooster High School. Chelf is a four-time District qualifier and two-time State qualifier. She was also named All-District, All-State, and All-Ohio. In addition, Chelf garnered Ohio Cardinal Conference Swimmer of the Year honors.

"I chose Cleveland State because I loved the team and coaches, along with the pool."

Outside of the pool, Chelf was named to the Merit Roll.

Chelf swam for Wooster YMCA, where she was a Great Lakes Zone qualifier and a speedo sectionals qualifier.

Chelf plans to major in physical therapy when she enrolls in the fall and is the daughter of Matt and Holly Chelf.
