CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State University swimming & diving coach Hannah Burandt announced the first signee for the Class of 2023, Alaina Brown.

Brown is from Cooperstown, Pa., and swam at Rocky Grove High School. Brown was named Region 1 Swimmer of the Year in her freshman and junior years. She was also a four-time All-District honoree and a three-time All-State swimmer.

"I chose Cleveland State because I thought it would give me the best opportunity to further my education and athletic career."

Outside of the pool, Brown was a four-time Academic Honor Roll student.

Brown swam for Grove City YMCA, making the district, state, and national teams.

Brown plans to major in early childhood education when she enrolls in the fall and is the daughter of Amy and Wade Brown.
