Cleveland State Women's Swimming & Diving in Tenth After Day Two of Magnus Cup

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State remained in tenth place with one day remaining at the Magnus Cup inside Busbey. The Vikings conclude the meet tomorrow with prelims at 9 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m.

Akron remains atop the leaderboard with 1072.5 points, Duquesne is second with 599.5 points, and Xavier is third with 550 points.

"We have made an overhaul shift in training this season and I am very happy with where we are at with Magnus Cup as we head into the final day tomorrow," said head coach Hannah Burandt. "This is preparation for the Horizon League, and we have had some breakthroughs along with aha moments that we will carry into tomorrow."

Freshman, Ellie Mckibbin clocked a 56.61 in the 100-yard butterfly, tying for the eighth fastest time in program history.

In the 200-yard freestyle B-final, Ana Sofia Sousa won with a time of 1:52.65 while Rachel Contich came in second with a 1:53.31.

Cleveland State diver, Brooke Eichel placed fourth in 1-meter with a score of 231.05 and sixth in 3-meter with a 201.90.
