Cleveland State Women's Swimming & Diving Opened Season at Home

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's swimming and diving opened their season against St. Bonaventure and Kenyon at home on Saturday afternoon. The meet served as a Pink Day as the Green and White raised $750.00 for cancer awareness.

Brooke Eichel, the lone diver for the Vikings won both events; 1-meter (209.78) and 3-meter (192.83).

Rachel Contich won a pair of races on the afternoon; 200-yard freestyle (1:55.43) and 500-yard freestyle (5:10.80).

Mackenzie Lipnick opened the swimming portion of the double dual with a runner-up finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, clocking a 10:59.16.

"This was truly the best start to a season we've ever had," said head coach Hannah Burandt. "The entire team was engaged and focused the entire meet. Perfection is never the goal, learning, progress, and mastering what we practiced are key. I am very excited to build and carry this momentum forward."

Cleveland State returns to the pool on Saturday, October 29 for the two-day A-10 Challenge at Spire Institute with George Mason, St. Bonaventure, and Oakland.
