Cleveland State Women's Swimming & Diving Completes Day One of Horizon League Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Cleveland State kicked off the four-day Horizon League Championships on Wednesday evening. With day one in the books, the Viking women are in seventh place with 32 points.

The first day started off with Brooke Eichel placing 13th in 3m diving with a score of 203.70.

The swimming portion of the championships opened with the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Caroline Hughes, Grace Butcher, Lauren Lewis, and Reagan St. Clair came in seventh with a time of 1:46.48. However, the Vikings were disqualified in the race for an early take-off.

The opening night was capped off with a fifth-place finish by the 800-yard freestyle relay squad of Lauren Lewis, Mackenzie Lipnick, Ana Sofia Sousa, and Rachel Contich, finishing in 7:39.30.

Day Two Schedule
The second day will feature the 500-yard freestyle, 200 IM, 50-yard freestyle, and 200-yard freestyle relay.
