CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's swimming & diving were edged by Youngstown State, 161-127 in their home-opening dual on Friday afternoon at the Busbey Natatorium. The Vikings won seven races on the day with Rachel Contich and Lauren Lewis winning two apiece.
WINS
- Lauren Lewis in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.88) and 200-yard IM (2:11.79).
- Caroline Hughes in the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.46).
- Madison Taker in the 200-yard butterfly (2:10.08).
- Reagan St. Clair in the 50-yard freestyle (24.89).
- Rachel Contich in the 500-yard freestyle (5:11.04) and 100-yard freestyle (53.68).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brooke Eichel started the home dual meet with a third-place finish in 3-meter diving, scoring 211.80.
- Lewis won the first individual race of the season for the Vikings in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 1:56.88.
- Lewis won her second race of the afternoon as the Vikings went one-and-two in the 200-yard IM. Hughes claimed the second spot in the event.
- Hughes won the 200-yard backstroke, swimming a 2:11.46, and then won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.68.
- Taker touched first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:10.08.
- St. Clair sprinted her way to a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.89.
- In the 500-yard freestyle, Contich won the event with a time of 5:11.04 and later won the 100-yard freestyle in 24.89.
- The Vikings turned in runner-up performances in the 1000-yard freestyle (Lipnick, 10:47.61), 100-yard breaststroke (Butcher, 1:09.19), and 100-yard butterfly (Lewis, 59.19).
- Cleveland State claimed the second through fourth spots in the 100-yard backstroke led by Hughes with a time of 1:00.31.

- Lauren Lewis in the 100-yard butterfly (59.19) and 200-yard IM (2:11.79).
- Madison Taker in the 200-yard butterfly (2:10.08) and 100-yard butterfly (1:01.30).
- Mackenzie Lipnick in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.54).
- Grace Butcher in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.19).
- Ana Sofia Sousa in the 50-yard freestyle (25.83).
