Michelle Nicholas returns to her familiar spot in right field this season after redshirting last season. An excellent hitter with good speed, she also possess an outstanding throwing arm.
2005 - Redshirt Season
Redshirted after offseason knee surgery.
2004 - Junior Season
Started all 53 games in right field, finishing second on the team with a .280 average...Had one home run, nine RBI, and three triples (7th in the league) in her team-high 175 at-bats...struck out just 24 times with 15 walks and two stolen bases...second on the team with 23 runs scored...batted .288 in league play...had 11 multiple-hit games...had a career-best 15-game hitting streak from Apr 7-24 in which she hit .404 (21-52)...went 4-for-6 with three RBI and four runs in sweep of St. Francis (4/21)...was 4-for-8 in twin bill with Butler (4/3).
2003 - Sophomore Season
Played in 53 games, getting the starting nod in 52...batted .246, the third-best mark on the team...tied for second with 42 hits, scoring 20 runs and driving in 11...also finished tied for second with 21 steals... recorded 10 multi-hit games, including four three-hit performances...banged out five hits in the Horizon League Championship...collected three singles against UW-Green Bay on April 12, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
2002 - Freshman Season
Started 42 games in the outfield...perfect in stolen base attempts, collecting six on the season...third on team with two triples and fourth with 17 runs scored.
High School
All-league and all-county her junior and senior year...also earned all-region honors...three-time Stark County All-Star Team pick...Akron Beacon Journal all-area selection in 2001...team captain as a senior....earned four letters...played in the ASA Nationals in 2000 and NSA Nationals in 1999 and 2001...led team to 2001 national title.
