Cleveland State Softball Hosts NKU In Final Regular Season Series

Cleveland, OH-The Cleveland State softball team closes the 2024 regular season this weekend with a matchup against Northern Kentucky at Viking Field. The two teams will play a three-game series starting Friday. Due to weather the game schedule has been adjusted, with Friday shifting to a doubleheader with first pitch scheduled for noon. Saturday's game will be Senior Day as six Cleveland State student-athletes will play their final home game. First pitch is slated for 1:00 p.m. and fans are encouraged to arrive early for the senior presentation.

The Vikings are looking to build momentum and improve their seeding headed into next week's Horizon League Tournament. Cleveland State has clinched a spot in the tournament and would be the no. 4 seed if the tournament started today. The Vikings are 12-9 in league play and NKU sits at 13-8, one game ahead.

Cleveland State has five victories at Viking Field this season and can claim a winning record at home with a series victory.

A pre-game recognition will take place prior to Saturday's game as Cleveland State honors Jenna Watts, Alexa Sieger, Kiera Frascone, Becky Hurosky, Torrie Jenkins and Jenna Deang as they play at home for the final time. Admission to all softball games is free for all fans.
