Cleveland State Softball Hosts Purdue Fort Wayne for Midweek Series

Cleveland, OH-The Cleveland State softball team returns to Viking Field for a midweek series with Purdue Fort Wayne starting Tuesday. The Vikings and Mastodons will play three games with a single game scheduled for Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. and a doubleheader scheduled for Wednesday starting at noon.

Cleveland State is 5-4 in Horizon League play and sits in a tie for fourth in the league standings. The Vikings have won two of three league series to start the conference slate. Cleveland State took two of three from IUPUI and most recently from Green Bay on the road. This is the second home series of the season.

Tuesday's game will be the softball team's "Bleed Green" game in collaboration with the Cleveland State Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

Purdue Fort Wayne is 2-7 in Horizon League play coming into this week's action. The Mastodons dropped their first seven league contests before sweeping a doubleheader against Robert Morris on Saturday to enter the week on a two-game winning streak.
