Cleveland, OH-The Cleveland State softball team hits the road once again for a three-game weekend series at IUPUI to open conference play. The series begins with a single game on Friday at 3:00 p.m. with a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m. 

The Vikings are 10-14 all time against the Jaguars. Cleveland State is 4-2 in games played in Indanapolis. The two teams met last season in Cleveland with IUPUI winning both games in a series that was shortened due to weather.

Cleveland State enters conference play with a 4-11 record in non-conference action. Emma Gilkerson leads the way with a .278 batting average. Gilkerson has collected 10 hits through the first 15 games including three for extra bases. Gilkerson has collected 3 RBI and is tied for the team lead with five walks drawn.

Melissa Holzopfel leads the way in the circle, carrying a 1.75 ERA in eight appearances. Holzopfel has 41 strikeouts in 56 innings of work and has yielded just 14 earned runs.
