Three Cleveland State Softball Student-Athletes Named to #HLSB All-League Teams

Cleveland, OH-The Horizon League released its postseason all-league teams today, and Cleveland State is well represented. Jenna Deang and Becky Hurosky each were named first-team All-Horizon League and Melissa Holzopfel was named to the second team. 

In addition to being named to the All-Academic team for the second consecutive year, Deang earns first-team all-league recognition after finishing seventh in the league with a .371 batting average. Deang also finished in the top ten in on-base percentage (.443) and hits (26). 

Hurosky lands a spot on the first team after hitting .324 in league games. She finished third in the league in RBI, driving in 19 runs in 23 league contests. Hurosky also tied for the league lead in doubles (9) and finished in the top ten in slugging percentage (.544). This is her second straight year earning all-league recognition after being named to the second team last season. 

Holzopfel earned second-team all-league honors after finishing with an 8-7 record and a 2.20 ERA in league games. Her win total was good for third most in the league and the ERA mark was fourth best. Holzopfel finished second in the league with 101 strikeouts. She tossed a no-hitter against Northern Kentucky at the beginning of April, the tenth in the history of the program.
