Cleveland State Softball Opens Home Slate with Three Against IUPUI

Cleveland, OH-The Cleveland State softball team is set to open its home schedule this weekend with a three-game series with IUPUI. 

Game one is scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m. A doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday with the first game scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch and the second game beginning 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. 

This marks the first Horizon League competition for the Vikings. Cleveland State enters the weekend with a 4-20 record through the early season non-conference schedule. 

IUPUI has already played a Horizon League series, splitting with Oakland on Tuesday in a doubleheader. The Jaguars lost the opening game of the twin bill 8-1 but came back to win the second game 6-5. 

The Vikings were picked third in the league preseason poll, while the Jaguars were picked seventh. Fans can follow along on csuvikings.com with live stats for all three games.
