Bajusz Named to #HLSB All-Academic Team

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - Cleveland State softball senior Sydney Bajusz has been named to the #HLSB All-Academic Team, the Horizon League announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Bajusz, a native of Aurora, Ill., has compiled a grade point average of 3.99 as a Health Science Pre-Physical Therapy major. The right-handed outfielder's near-pefect GPA leads the entire Vikings softball program.

"I couldn't be any more proud of Sydney," said head coach Amy Kyler. "She's worked extremely hard to maintain academic excellence, all while putting up career numbers on the field. Being recognized by Horizon League Faculty Athletics Representatives and a member of the All-Academic Team is a truly well-derserved honor."

Appearing in 45 games for the Green and White this season, Bajusz tallied a career-best .291 batting average, in addition to a career-high eight homeruns and a career-high 22 runs batted in.

In the Horizon League this past season, the senior ranked sixth in homeruns (8), seventh in doubles (11), and 10th in runs scored (27) and stolen bases (8).

The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits, and participate in 50 percent of the team's overall contests.
