Cuckler Strong in Circle, Jacobsen Has Three Hits in Setback at FGCU

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Melissa Jacobsen had three hits on the day and Kloee Cuckler worked six strong innings, but Cleveland State fell at FGCU, 2-0, on the final day of the FGCU/Four Points Spring Break Classic on Sunday.

Jacobsen finished 3-for-4 in the leadoff spot in the lineup, while Cuckler worked six innings in the circle, allowing just two runs (one earned) on four hits. She struck out six.

FGCU scored the lone runs of the game in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly and a CSU error that led the the second run.

The Vikings return to action this weekend when CSU opens Horizon League play at UIC. The teams will play a single game on Friday (March 24) at 3:00 pm and a doubleheader on Saturday (March 25) starting at 1:00 pm.
