MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Six different players scored goals and Milwaukee set a CSU record by launching 42 shots as the Panthers blanked the Vikings, 6-0, on Friday night at Engelmann Field.

Milwaukee improved to 9-3-3 overall and 5-0-1 in Horizon League play while the Vikings slipped to 4-11 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

"Although Milwaukee had the edge in the first half, I thought that we did a nice job of implementing our defensive game plan," head coach Derrek Falor said. "That all changed with the early goal in the second half and we were not able to recover."

"We now get to head back to Clevleand to play Valparaiso in about 38 hours so we really need to recover quickly because I think that we match up well with Valpo and we will need a good team effort to secure a win."

Milwaukee got on the scoreboard in the 31st minute when Pam Shipway lofted a shot from 15 yards out just inside the far post.

With freshman Kelly Zinkiewich in goal for the Vikings, CSU did a nice job of withstanding the Panther offensive barrage, trailing just 1-0 at half despite facing 18 first half shots.

The Vikings were not so fortunate in the second half as the Kate Megna scored the first of five second half goals for the Panthers just 37 seconds into the second half.

Milwaukee made it 3-0 in the 56th minute when Erin Kreuser pounded home the rebound of a shot off the crossbar.

The lead was extended to 4-0 at the 57:50 mark when Amanda Winn scored on a cornerkick Nicole Sperl made it 5-0 in the 80th minute when she scored on a penalty kick following a foul in the box by Amber Rasmussen.

Claire Pignet closed out the scoring at the 84:46 when she found the net on a free kick from 25 yards out.

Cleveland State returns home on Sunday to start a regular season ending three-match homestand against Valparaiso beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Krenzler Field.
