Opening Whistle
Cleveland State heads down to Nashville, Tennessee, for its next two games, starting with Belmont on Friday and then Middle Tennessee State on Sunday.

About Belmont
The Bruins stand at 1-2-1 on the year and are coming off a 2-0 setback against Vanderbilt on Sunday. The Bruins have only scored three goals this year. All the goals have come from different players, while Avery Nowak leads the way with two assists. Sarah Doyle has played every minute in goal and has made 20 saves.

About Middle Tennessee State
The Blue Raiders are 2-1-1 overall and face Lipscomb on Thursday evening prior to taking on Cleveland State. MTSU is 1-0-1 on their home field this season. Cambell Kivisto leads the offense with two goals and an assist. Hannah Suder has played every minute in goal and has made just eight saves.

The Vikings returned home after playing their previous two games on the road, falling to Kent State on Sunday by a final score of 2-0.

Kathryn Ramicone enters her final season with 15 career goals, five back of becoming the all-time leading scorer in program history. Maddie Young, also in her final season, has 11 career tallies.

Ramicone is third with 38 points and Young is ninth with 29 points, both behind the leader, Natalie Daniels with 57 points.

Key Returners
The Vikings return all three Horizon League award winners from last season: Kathryn Ramicone and Rylee Bussen earned Second Team honors, and Eleanor Simkonis on the All-Freshman team.

A Look Back at Last Season
Cleveland State finished 2022 with a 7-6-4 overall record and a 4-4-2 Horizon League record. The Green and White went unbeaten in their final three games and will look to continue that momentum into the new season.

Preseason Poll
The Cleveland State women's soccer team has been chosen to finish fifth in the Horizon League for the 2023 season, as voted on by the league coaches.

Milwaukee took the No. 1 spot after receiving 10 first-place votes for 120 points. Oakland was second with 93 points, and Purdue Fort Wayne was third with 85 points. Youngstown State snagged the fourth spot after receiving a first-place vote for 84 points. The Vikings slotted into the fifth spot with 73 total points, two spots higher than where they finished a season ago.

Following this trip to Nashville, the Green and White return home on Thursday, Sept. 7 against Saint Francis for Senior Night at 6 p.m.
