Cleveland State Women's Soccer Downed at Home by Oakland

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Vikings (5-5-3, 2-3-1) were shutout at home 1-0 by Oakland (4-2-7, 1-1-3) on Thursday evening.

THE GAME
Cleveland State and Oakland battled to a scoreless opening 45 minutes on Krenzler Field with the Grizzlies holding a 3-1 edge in shots. The lone Green and White shot came off the foot of Elanor Simkonis, which was on target.

The Grizzlies got on the board less than three minutes into the half on a Sophie Wilsey goal off an assist from Sydney Grodinsky. The Vikings outshot the visitors 5-4 in the second half but were unable to break through.

Mollie McGuire got the start in goal and made a save on the evening. Kathryn Ramicone accounted for three of the six shots.
