Cleveland State Women's Soccer Clipped by Milwaukee 1-0

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – The Vikings (4-4-2, 1-2-0) suffered a heart-breaking 1-0 loss at Milwaukee (5-3-1, 2-1-0) on Thursday evening.

THE GAME
The first half went scoreless with Milwaukee holding a 12-7 advantage in shots and a slight 5-4 edge in shots on goal. The Panthers nearly found the back of the net in the 18th minute on a shot to the far post, but a Viking defender cleared the ball off the line.

Cleveland State's defense was forced to clear the line for a second time during the 49th minute.

Milwaukee netted the lone goal of the game in the 83rd minute on a full-field counter after Madi Snyder's shot was saved off a corner kick. Liv Fain made the initial save on a shot by Natalie Auble but Stephanie Recinos followed it up for the goal.

The Panthers held an 18-10 edge in shots and 9-7 advantage in shots on goal.

Kathryn Ramicone finished with a game-high three shots with two on frame. Mayra Sesmas was close behind with two. Fain took the loss despite making six saves.
