Cleveland State Women's Soccer Blanks Detroit for First Horizon League Victory

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (4-3-2, 1-1-0) picked up their first Horizon League victory of the year after shutting out Detroit (3-5-1, 1-1-0) 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.

THE GAME
The Vikings took the first lead of the game in the 34th minute on an absolute rocket from 30-yards out by Maddie Young. Four minutes later, Kathryn Ramicone volleyed in a cross from Grace Krosky to lead 2-0.

Cleveland State took the 2-0 advantage into the locker room, outshooting Detroit 10-5.

The second half went scoreless with the Green and White holding a slight 7-6 edge in shots.

The shutout is the third of the year and snapped a two-game losing skid for the Vikings.

Cleveland State outshot the visitors 17-11 and had a 6-5 edge in shots on goal. The Titans took six corners compared to three for the Vikings.

Erica Leinweber paced the game with six shots. Liv Fain picked up the win in goal after making five saves.
