Freshman, Mayra Sesmas scored both goals in the first half as the Vikings led 2-0 at the break. McKenna Donahue, Maddie Young, and Courtney Coholich all scored in the second half. Mollie McGuire recorded her first career shutout after making three saves.

Pitt enters the games with a 3-0 mark and has outscored teams 9-1. The Panthers are coming off a 6-1 home opening win against UMASS. Amanda West leads the offense with four goals and one assist for nine points. Caitlyn Lazzarini has been the primary goalkeeper and has 13 saves on the year.

Preseason Poll
The Cleveland State women's soccer team was selected to finish fourth in the Horizon League Preseason Poll, as voted upon by league head coaches, the Horizon League announced on Wednesday.

Oakland topped the Horizon League poll with five first-place votes for 115 points, while reigning HL Champions, Milwaukee came in second with five first-place votes and 108 points.

2021 Season Summary
The Vikings are coming off a 6-11-2 overall and 5-5-1 league mark during the 2021 season. CSU went 3-0-1 over the final four contests of the regular season to earn a spot in the Horizon League tournament for the first time since 2019. During the stretch, the Vikings didn't allow a goal for 458 minutes, recording four straight shutouts.
