Cleveland State Women's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw in Home Opener

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Vikings (0-0-2) played to a scoreless draw in their home opener on Sunday afternoon against St. Bonaventure (0-0-2). This is the first time in program history that the Green and White have had consecutive games end in a tie.

THE GAME
Cleveland State had the first scoring chance in the 36th minute as Kathryn Ramicone's shot from the top of the box was saved. A minute later, the Bonnies had their lone shot on target saved by Liv Fain.

The Vikings put three more shots on goal before the half ended. At the intermission, CSU held an 11-4 advantage in shots.

Cleveland State continued to dominate the shot category in the second half, holding a 13-3 edge. 

In the 89th minute, St. Bonaventure was called for a foul just outside the box, setting up a great opportunity for the Vikings. However, Cleveland State was unable to take advantage of the chance as the game ended 0-0.

The Vikings ended the contest with a 24-7 advantage in shots and an 11-2 edge in shots on goal. CSU also had ten corner kicks compared to two for the visitors.

Erica Leinweber finished with seven shots, two of those being on frame. Kathryn Ramicone was close behind with five shots including four on target.

Liv Fain played the first 77 minutes, recording two saves, and Mollie McGuire finished the game out but didn't record a save.
