Cleveland State Women's Soccer Falls to Milwaukee

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland State women's soccer team dropped its match on Thursday evening to Milwaukee 7-0. The loss snapes the Vikings two-game winning streak and marks the team's first loss in Horizon League play (2-1-0).

THE GAME
The Panthers jumped on the Vikes only 81 seconds into the match when Mackenzie found the back of the net. Cleveland State controlled the pace of the game for the next 30 minutes, before Rachel Phillpotts scored Milwaukee's second goal of the half.

After 45 minutes of action, Milwaukee held a 2-0 lead.

The Panthers dominated the second half, scoring five-straight goals, including three goals in less than 10 minutes.

Cleveland State recorded 10 shots on the day, with Grace Grant tallying three shots, including one on goal. 

The Green and White registered four corner kicks and committed eight fouls to Milwaukee's 12.

Mollie McGuire earned the nod behind the goal, recording three saves on the day.

At halftime, Cleveland State honored one of the most  decorated players in program history, Natalie Daniels. A four-time All-Horizon League selection, Daniels earned first team honors as a junior and senior after being named to the second team as a freshman and sophomore. She was a member of the Horizon League All-Newcomer Team as a freshman. In addition, daniels was a first team All-Ohio pick as a senior after earning second team honors as a junior.

UP NEXT
The Vikes will hit the road for a contest against the Northern Kentucky Norse. Cleveland State hold an all-time record of 4-3-0 against the Norse, including a 3-2-0 clip on the road.
