Cleveland State Cruises to Victory Over Detroit Mercy

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's soccer team cruised their way to a 7-0 victory over Detroit Mercy on Monday evening inside the Krenzler Field Bubble. Monday's match marked the team's final regular season game of the 2021 spring season. The Vikes finish the campaign with a 6-4-0 overall record and one of only two teams to play out the full 10-game season.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"That was a fun afternoon. Obviously, we knew we could only control the things that we could control, which was getting a result here, and we definitely took care of that with a really good performance. I couldn't be more proud of this group. We've asked so much of this group of kids - from a summer to be prepared for a season that didn't happen to hanging through a fall with limited, restricted and tough student-athlete parameters to perform, both on and off the field, all the way to a shrunken down season where we asked a lot of them. Today, we stand here as one of only two teams in the entire conference that made it through the entire 10-game schedule. It's just a great group. Today was just a lot of fun. They just enjoy one anothers' company and that's what today became about. It was a perfect way to cap off nine-and-a-half months of really tough times that this group leaned on eachother and this is a memory we'll have forever." - Head Coach Dallas Boyer
