Vikings Fall at UIC, 2-0

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Cleveland State women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 match at UIC in Horizon League action on Wednesday night at Flames Field.

The loss drops the Vikings to 7-6-1 overall and 3-2 in the League, while UIC improved to 4-10-1 overall and 1-4 in the Horizon League.

After a scoreless first half, the Flames used a goal from Jasmin Carrera just 11 minutes into the second half to take a 1-0 lead. Naomi Rushe tapped in an attempted clearance from the Vikings just eight minutes later in the 65th minute to extend the UIC lead to 2-0.

UIC finished the match with a 13-10 advantage in shots, while both teams had four shots on goal.

The Vikings return to action on Saturday (Oct. 17) when CSU travels to Northern Kentucky for a 7:00 pm match.
