CLEVELAND, Ohio - Just five days after completing play at the Butler Spring Invitational, the Cleveland State women's golf team returns to action when the Vikings compete in the IPFW Spring Invitational on Sunday and Monday (April 1-2).

The 36-hole tournament will be played at the par-71, 6,042-yard Pine Valley C.C. with tee times beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday and a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.

The nine team field includes Chicago State, Cleveland State, Detroit, Green Bay, IPFW, Lewis, SIU-Edwardsville, Indianapolis and Valparaiso.

The tournament will be CSU's second to last event prior to the Horizon League Championship at the end of April.

"This is a very important tournament for us," head coach Steve Weir said. "We are coming off a good final round at Butler and I'd like to see us continue that momentum this weekend as we get closer to the league championship. We are going to have to stay mentally tough and limit our mistakes in order to score well this weekend."

At last seasons event at IPFW, the Vikings finished fourth of six teams, shooting rounds of 351 and 360. CSU was forced to play the final round with just four players as Ariel Sparrow had to withdraw due to illness.

Lisa Barber tied for 10th place at last year's event, carding rounds of 86-81 (167).

CSU finished fourth of six teams at the Butler Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday (March 26-27), carding a 347 in the opening round and knocking 14 shots off in the second round for a 333.

Sparrow paced the Vikings, tying for seventh place with rounds of 86-80 (166), while Barber tied for 10th place, shooting a 36-hole total of 167 (82-85).
