The Cleveland State women's golfers ended the fall portion of their season on a strong note, carded a 350-367---717 at Tannenhauf Golf Course finish first at the Malone College Fall Invitational on October 11-12. The win marks the Vikings' first medallist finish in the two-year history of the program.
Freshman Kristen Obush (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) captured individual medallist honors with an 80-83---163, topping runner-up Ashley Welker of Seton Hall by six strokes. It is the fourth time that Obush has led the Vikings in scoring this fall.
Sophomore Tori Kastl (Hinkley, Ohio/Medina) tallied an 81-89---170 to finish third overall. Sophomore Areial Chapman (Cleveland, Ohio/John F. Kennedy) and freshman Mollie Porter (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) rounded out the team scoring, posting marks of 96-96---192 and 93-99---192 respectively.
The Malone College Fall Invitational concluded the 2002 fall season for the women's golfers. They will look to continue their success this coming spring.
