HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Cleveland State carded a first round 344 and is in third place of eight teams at the Horizon League Championship.
The 54-hole event is taking place at the par-73, 5,877-yard Mission Inn Resort.
Butler leads after an opening round 331, while Detroit (342) and CSU (344) are in second and third place. They are followed by Loyola (345), Green Bay (349), Youngstown State (350), Valparaiso (351) and UIC (378).
Ariel Sparrow paced CSU with an opening round 83 and is in eighth place overall. Colleen Miller shot 86 and is tied for 11th, wihle Madeline Kaminski is tied for 13th following a first round 87.
Lisa Barber shot 88 and is tied for 16th and Shelly Ford opened with an 89 and is tied for 23rd.
The second round of the league championship is scheduled for Saturday.
