Cleveland State Women’s Golf Tees it Up at EKU Colonel Classic

Richmond, KY-The Cleveland State women's golf team returns to familiar territory as the Vikings are set to compete Monday and Tuesday at the Colonel Classic hosted by Eastern Kentucky University.

Cleveland State is one of 15 teams in the field and will play three rounds total in the 54-hole event. The first two rounds will take place on Monday with the third and final round scheduled for Tuesday. CSU's Sabrina Coffman is the defending champion of the event, as she won last year's tournament by finishing 1-over par to prevail by one stroke. The individual title kicked off a stellar final month of Coffman's collegiate career which culminated with a Horizon League individual championship and an appearance at NCAA Regionals.

Cleveland State is in action for the second week in a row after finishing sixth last week at the NKU Julie Invitational. Kaitlin Kormuth took home the individual title and earned Horizon League Player of the Week honors after claiming her first ever tournament victory.

Kormuth is joined in the lineup by Olivia Swain, Lola Barnett, Brynna Mardis and Abby Blackburn.

The tournament will be contested at Gibson Bay Golf Course which will measure 6,108 yards for the tournament and play to a par of 72. Action begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat throughout the event.
