Cleveland State Women’s Golf Finishes Fifth at Nevel Meade Collegiate

Prospect, KY-The Cleveland State women's golf team posted a fifth-place finish in the Nevel Meade Collegiate. Despite cold temperatures and challenging weather conditions throughout, the Vikings improved by two spots in the team standings from the first round to the second round. In addition, two student-athletes posted top-10 individual finishes. 

Cleveland State finished at 78-over par through 36 holes. The Vikings posted a 38-over 326 on day two which was a two-shot improvement from the first round team score.

Olivia Swain and Kaitlin Kormuth each finished tied for ninth in the individual standings finishing at 16-over par for the tournament. Swain posted an 80 in the second round which included three birdies. Kormuth finished with a 79 on day two and played steady golf for most of the day recording 12 total pars in the second round. 

Lola Barnett finished tied for 21st overall posting a 20-over par total. Barnett closed with an 85 in the second round.

Brynna Mardis finished tied for 46th at 26-over par and Kaylin Kline finished 57th at 38-over for the two rounds. Individually, Abby Blackburn finished at 35-over par in a tie for 55th place. 

Cleveland State returns to action next week, March 25-26, at the NKU Julie Invitational in Batavia, Ohio.
