Cleveland State Women’s Golf Opens Season at Brittany Kelly Cardinal Classic

Yorktown, IN-The Cleveland State women's golf team is set to open the season on Monday at the Brittany Kelly Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State University. The 54-hole event begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start for the opening round. The tournament will be contested at the Players Club, which will measure 6,226 yards and play to a par of 72.

Cleveland State's lineup will feature three returning players and two newcomers. Olivia Swain returns after posting an 82.4 scoring average last year. Mandie Ruminski and Brynna Mardis also return after competing in the lineup last season. Ruminski posted a 79.1 scoring average and had five top-20 finishes in last year's spring season. Mardis posted an 85.4 average and won the IUPUI Lady Jaguar Invitational last spring to post a strong finish to her freshman campaign.

Two Viking freshmen will be making their collegiate debuts this week. Kaitlin Kormuth and Lola Barnett will each see their first action after arriving on campus earlier this month.

Live scoring will be available on Golfstat for all three rounds of the tournament. Cleveland State will start on holes 16-18 in each round, with the second round set to start at approximately 1:00 p.m.
