Coffman Tied for the Lead, Cleveland State Women’s Golf Second after Day One of Horizon League Championship

Howey in the Hils, FL-Sabrina Coffman fired a 2-over par 74 to lead the way for the Cleveland State women's golf team on day one of the Horizon League Championship Tournament at Mission Inn Resort. The Vikings carded a 26-over par 314 in the opening round and sit two shots back of IUPUI who leads the field at 24-over. 

The Vikings started their day on the back nine. Coffman opened with a bogey-free 2-under 35 on the back side. She carded two birdies in a three-hole stretch to finish the nine after starting with six straight pars. She finished with a 4-over 39 on the front nine to post 74. She shares first place with IUPUI's Shelby Busker who also finished at 2-over. 

Lexi Knight also got off to a strong start in round one, finishing at 5-over par 77. Knight is tied for fifth place with four other players. Knight carded two birdies, one on each nine, and posted a 1-over par 38 on the back side. 

Olivia Swain is in a tie for 16th place at 8-over par after posting an 80. Swain shot matching 4-over scores on each nine. 

Mandie Ruminski is tied for 29th place as she finished with an 83 in her first 18 holes. Ruminski struggled out of the gates but rebounded with a 39 on the front nine. Brynna Mardis is tied for 37th place after an 89. 

The Vikings will be first off of the front nine in tomorrow's second round with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. Follow along on Golfstat for live scoring throughout the day.
