Mardis Tied for Second, Cleveland State Women’s Golf Tied for Fourth at IUPUI Jaguar Invite

Carmel, IN-The Cleveland State women's golf team sits in a tie for fourth place after the first round of the IUPUI Lady Jaguar Invitational at Plum Creek Golf Course. The Vikings carded a 20-over par 308 in the first round. Brynna Mardis finished her opening round with an even par 72. She is tied with two other players two shots back of Eastern Michigan's Natai Apichonlati who leads the field at 2-under par. 

Mardis finished strong posting a 2-under 34 on the back nine. She made three birdies including back-to-back on holes 12 and 13. The round is a season low for Mardis as she looks to make a run at Medalist honors in tomorrow's final round. She scored well on the par 3's, finishing 1-under which was tied for the best mark in the field. 

Lexi Knight and Sabrina Coffman are each tied for 21st place after posting matching scores of 77 in the first round. Knight also finished strong on the back nine posting a 1-under round of 34. 

Olivia Swain is tied for 49th after a 10-over round of 82. Mandie Ruminski is tied for 65th place with a 15-over total. Abby Blackburn, playing as an individual, is tied for 52nd at 11-over par. 

Round two will take place tomorrow with tee times starting at 9:00 a.m. The Vikings will start in a block at 10:12, with Mardis set to tee off at 10:48. Follow along on Golfstat for live results throughout the day.
