Ruminski Sits T-1 After First Day Of Briar Ridge Invitational

SCHERERVILLE, Ind. – The Cleveland State women's golf team finished the first day of the Briar Ridge Invitational Sunday evening, paced by Mandie Ruminski who finished the day sitting T-1.

As a team, Cleveland State finished day one sitting T-5 with a score of 317.

Ruminski, who posted a one-under score of 71 during the first 18 holes, finished the day tied for first with UIC's Megan Tang and Green Bay's Isabelle Maleki. During the opening round, Ruminski led the Vikings with three birdies, including one on the par-five 18th hole to finish the day.

Sabrina Coffman and Lexi Knight both finished the day with top-45 finishes, as Coffman notched a 79 to sit T29 and Knight posted a first-round score of 82 to finish T-44.

Freshman Brynna Mardis finished her 18 holes with a score of 85 to sit T-59, while Olivia Swain ended the day T-67 with an 18-hole score of 87.

In addition to Ruminski's three birdies, Coffman finished with two on the day, while Mardis tallied one.

The Vikings will return to the course tomorrow (Monday, September 26) with a 10:00 a.m. EST shotgun start.
