Women’s Golf remains in third after opening two rounds of Horizon League Championship

DAY TWO RESULTS AND FINAL ROUND LIVE SCORING

 

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The Cleveland State women's golf program remained locked in third place after the second day of the 2022 Horizon League Championships at the Mission Inn Resort & Club on Monday.

CSU posted a 19-over for the second round of the tournament to rank third overall at 35-over. The Vikes sit 17 back of leader Oakland, but trail second-place Green Bay by just a single stroke. They are also looking to hold off IUPUI in fourth at 36-over.

As a squad, Cleveland State leads the championship with 110 holes of par and has also added 15 birdies. 

Madison Butler paced the Vikings in a tie for ninth at 8-over. Her second-round included 13 holes of par. She is now tied for sixth at the championship with 23 pars and also sits tied for 20th with three birdies.

Sabrina Coffman and Meg Rossouw are right behind in a tie for 11th at 9-over. Coffman improved 11 spots on the second day as she posted a round of 2-over. Her showing of 75 tied for the eighth-best round of the entire event. Overall, Coffman is tied for sixth with five birdies while Rossouw is tied for third with 24 holes of par. 

Lexi Knight (11-over) and Olivia Swain (14-over) finished things up for the Vikings in ties for 20th and 26th, respectively. Knight is tied for sixth with 23 pars and Swain is just behind in a tie for 16th with 21 holes of pars.  

Cleveland State placed three student-athletes in the top-11 and all five in the top-26 of the championship.

The Vikings are looking for their first top-three finish since CSU took third at the 2019 HL Championships.

The final round of the 2022 Horizon League Championships will get underway on Tuesday, April 25 at 8:30 AM ET. CSU fans and supporters will be able to follow along with the action live, here.
