DAYTON, Ohio -- Lexi Knight and Olivia Swain were the day one frontrunners for Cleveland State, each firing rounds of 76 to lead Cleveland State to a fourth-place finish after the opening day of the Dayton Flyers Invitational on Monday on the par-70 NCR Country Club North Course.

DAY ONE RECAP
Knight and Swain, an individual competitor, each earned eighteenth place in the medalist standings after day one. Knight fired a birdie on the third hole, while Swain earned birdies in the first, sixth, and tenth holes.
Thanks to strong day one performances across the board, Cleveland State is in fourth place in the team standings after day one with a total of 309. The University of Indianapolis leads the field with a team score of 291, and Ohio State's Alexis Phadungmartvorakul leads the medalist chase with an opening round of 67.
Seniors Sabrina Coffman and Madison Butler shot identical rounds of 77 to open the tournament. Both golfers are tied in 24th.
Senior Meg Rossouw recorded an opening round of 79 to land in 36th after day one. Freshman Alex Jakins rounded out the Vikings lineup with a day one round of 80, tying her in 40th.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday (Oct. 19) with 18 holes over the NCR Country Club beginning at 10:30 a.m.
