Cleveland State Women's Golf Heads To Coyote Creek Classic

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland State women's golf team will head to the Coyote Creek Classic this weekend - the program's fourth of five fall tournaments. The Vikings will hit the links after taking a week off, following a sixth-place showing at the Golden Grizzlies Invitational (September 26-27).

Play at the par-72, 6,019-yard Coyote Creek Golf Club gets underway Saturday morning with a shotgun start to the first two rounds.  Sunday's final round will also feature an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. 

The 13 team field includes: Bradley, Drake, Illinois State, Loyola, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Valparaiso, Chicago State, Green Bay, Western Illinois, Western Michigan and Xavier. 

Coyote Creek Golf Club is in its third year as Bradley's home course with this year's tournament marking the first event hosted by the Braves at the venue. 

The last time out, the Vikings finished in sixth place, of seven teams, shooting 310-327 - 637.

Alex Jakins, playing as an individual, led the Vikings with the team's sole top-20 finish of the tournament, finishing T18. 

Sabrina Coffman (T22), Madison Butler (T24) and Meg Rossouw (T27) all topped the tournament's top-30. Rossouw was one of only 10 golfers to shoot E or better on par 3's, while Jakins, Butler, Rossouw and Olivia Swain all tallied four birdies.

Swain finished 38th overall, while Lexi Knight finished two strokes behind swain sitting T40.
