TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
Thirteen teams will be competing in this event, including Akron, Bucknell, Chicago State, Dayton, Detroit Mercy, Evansville, Mount St. Mary's, Niagara, Saint Francis University, Walsh, Western Michigan, and Youngstown State.

Excluding the COVID-affected 2020 season, this is the seventh consecutive year that the Vikings have competed at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational to start their fall schedule. Cleveland State has finished no lower than third in the tournament in each of their past six appearances, including three second place finishes in that stretch.

Senior Madison Butler returns to the Vikings after an impressive season in spring 2021. She bested her own Cleveland State single season scoring record with a 76.2 stroke average for the season. She finished third in the Lady Jaguar Invitational and tied for 6th in the Horizon League Championship with a three-round total of 226.

In addition to Butler, Lexi Knight, Meg Rossouw, and Olivia Swain are also back in the fold for Cleveland State.

Rossouw looks build from a strong spring 2021 season in which she posted a career-best 77.5 scoring average and landed in the top 20 of all three events that she competed in, including an 8th place finish in the Horizon League Championship.

Knight recorded a career-best scoring average of 81.5 after competing in two events in the spring. Swain turned in a scoring average of 86 in her two events.

Graduate transfer Sabrina Coffman and freshmen Alex Jakins and Amanda Ruminski will join the returners on this season's roster.

"We're going in to play as good as we can, no expectations on the line," said first-year head coach Ryan Williams. "We have a lot to gain from an experience perspective and getting our first tournament under our belts."

The Roseann Schwartz Invitational will consist of 18 holes on Monday and conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday (Sept. 14).
