Vikings Begin Islander Classic in 10th Place

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Cleveland State women's golf team finished its first day of the Islander Classic in 10th place out of 14 teams on Monday, Feb. 25.

RESULTS

ROUND ONE RECAP:

Madison Butler finished the first day tied for 35th after scoring 157. Averi Hanna sits 10 spots behind Butler, tied for 45th. After shooting 83 in the first round, the freshman notched a five-stroke improvement in the second round, shooting 78, finishing the day with an overall score of 161.

Lexi Knight finished the first two rounds with a score of 163, tied for 51st. Junior Ashley Knight heads into the second day of the Islander Classic tied for the 57th spot, after notching a score of 165 in the opening day.

Meg Rossouw rounds out the Vikings, sitting four spots behind Knight tied at 61 and scoring 166 in the first day.
