TOURNAMENT RECAP
YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Junior Ashley Knight fired a final-round 75 and finished tied for seventh at the Shirley Spork Invitational on Tuesday on the Eagle Crest Golf Club.
Ashley Knight closed out the tournament by shooting a three-over par 75 over the par-72, 6,164-yard layout at the Eagle Crest Golf Club. She opened the tournament with rounds of 75-73 and finished tied for seventh in the field with a total of 223.
Ashley Knight finished tied for fifth in the tournament with 37 pars and was also tied for fifth in par-5 scoring at one-under par.
Cleveland State finished eighth in the team standings with a score of 926. The Vikings shot identical rounds of 306 to open the tournament and closed with a score of 314 on the final round.
Junior Madison Butler moved up five spots on the final day after shooting a four-over par 76 to finish in a tie for 19th. She had rounds of 74-79 to open the tournament and finished with a 54-hole score of 229.
Grace Zimmerman, who tied for sixth in the tournament with eight birdies, tied for 36th overall. She shot a pair of 77's to open the tournament and closed with an 81 to finish with a two-day total of 235.
Meg Rossouw shot an 82 over her final 18 holes of competition and tied for 54th in the field. She shot an 85 to open tournament play and then posted a 77 over her second 18 holes of play.
Lexi Knight, who was playing in her second tournament of the season, placed 71st overall after shooting a final-round 88. Coupled with her 80-90 on day one of the tournament, she had a total of 258.
Cleveland State will close out the fall portion of its schedule at the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Oct. 15-16 at the NCR Country Club.
