BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Junior Madison Butler fired a one-over par 73 and Cleveland State is currently second after the opening round of the Roseann Schwartz Invitational on Monday on the Mil Creek Course.

Butler, who won this event in 2017, is currently tied for third after opening with a 73. Danae Rugola of Youngstown State leads the field with a 69, while Victoria Grans of Youngstown State is second with a 72. Butler and Puthita Khuanrudee of Youngstown State are tied for third overall.

Led by Butler, Cleveland State is second overall in the team standings with a 304 on day one. Youngstown State leads the team standings after posting a 287.

Cleveland State placed three players in the top 10 of the field as Ashley Knight and Grace Zimmerman joined Butler.

Knight shot a 75 over her opening 18 holes and is sixth overall, while Zimmerman carded a 77 and is tied for seventh place.

Meg Rossouw is just outside the top 10 as she fired a 79 and is tied for 14th place.

Freshman Averi Hanna is tied for 18th place in the standings after posting an 81 in her first collegiate round.

Rayna Oosterhuis and Lexi Knight, both comepting as individuals, shot an opening-round 82 and are tied for 21st place overall.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday (Sept. 3) on the Mill Creek Course beginning at 8:30 a.m.
