RICHMOND, Ky. - Cleveland State shot a 301 - the second lowest round in school history - to conclude the EKU Colonel Classic on Saturday and place 11th overall at the par-72, 5,889-yard University Club at Arlington.
Today's round was topped only by CSU's 296 in the second round of the YSU Invitational on Sept. 2, 2014.
The Vikings, who were playing with just four players today instead of the normal five, tallied the third lowest round of the day among the 13 team field, recording nothing worse than a bogey all afternoon. CSU also improved by 40 strokes from Friday afternoon's second round.
Kaylee Neumeister and Sophie Kelner both fired a one-over-par 73 today, tied for the second lowest round of the day. Ellie Cronin shot a 77, while Rayna Oosterhuis shot 78 today.
Neumeister was CSU's top finisher, tying for 26th place with a 54-hole total of 235 (79-83-73), while Oosterhuis tied for 37th place at 239 (77-84-78). Kelner finished tied for 49th place at 244 (87-84-73) and Cronin tied for 63rd (82-90-77 - 249).
The Vikings close the regular season at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on April 8-9 ahead of the Horizon League Championship which takes place from April 23-25 in Florida.
