Vikings Begin Play at Colonel Classic

RICHMOND, Ky. - Cleveland State shot a 329 in the opening round of the Colonel Classic on Friday afternoon and is tied for seventh place of 12 teams.

The field was scheduled to play 36 holes today, but rain forced the first round to be canceled and the teams opened play around 2:00 p.m. Eastern Kentucky is serving as the host at the par-72, 5,838-yard Arlington G.C.

Senior Micaela Cronin carded a 78 and is tied for fifth place, just two shots off the lead. Sophomore Allyson Hackman is tied for 23rd after a first round 81,while senior Madeline Kaminski and junior Colleen Miller are tied for 45th after each shot 85.

Eastern Kentucky leads the field after a 313, while Xavier is two shots back (315) in second place and Morehead State is in third place at 317. USC Upstate is in fourth place after a 322 and Bowling Green and Ohio are tied for fifth place at 326.

CSU is tied for seventh place with Marshall, while Akron (330), Cumberlands (333), Bethel (336) and Tennessee Tech (328).

The final round of the event will be played on Saturday with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m.
