CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's basketball head coach Chris Kielsmeier has announced the addition of Jannah Eissa (Cairo, Eqypt) for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Eissa will join the Vikings with three years of eligibility remaining.
"We are pleased to add Jannah to our Viking Family, giving us even more depth to an already deep roster," Kielsmeier said. "Her ability to shoot the ball will fit right in with the way we play, while her high basketball IQ and passion on the court are two things that we are very excited for. Off the court, she is a great student in the classroom and an even better person!"
Eissa, a 5-8 guard, spent her first season at NC State. In limited minutes off the bench, Eissa helped NC State to a 31-7 record on the year, including a run to the NCAA Final Four.
Prior to NC State, Eissa won a U16 National Championship, averaging 12.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 steals during the finals. In addition, Eissa also notched double-doubles in four of five games during the U18 National Championship finals, while also competing twice with the Eqyptian U15 Skills National Team.
Eissa is a two-time winner of the FIBA 3x3 National Championships in U16 and U18.
Eissa rounds out a recruiting class that includes transfers Macey Fagen and Mya Moore, along with true freshmen Brenae Jones-Grant and Sarah Hurley.
