INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced the 2023-24 Women's Basketball All-Academic Team Wednesday, with Cleveland State senior Sara Guerreiro being recognized. Guerreiro becomes just the third Viking in program history to earn a spot on the #HLWBB All-Academic Team, and the second over the last two seasons. 

Guerreiro, who has been named to the Cleveland State University Dean's List every semester that she has been at CSU, is part of this year's seven-member All-Academic Team. 

As a mechanical engineering major, Guerreiro holds a 3.88 grade point average, earning a spot on the 2023 Fall Horizon League Honor Roll.

On the court, Guerreiro is averaging 8.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game as part of Cleveland State's starting lineup. Over the last seven games, Guerreiro has tallied double-digit points six times, including a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double in the win against Milwaukee. 

Guerreiro has been shooting 49-percent from the field on the season – including a .500 clip from three-point – and is part of a Cleveland State offense that is one of the best in the league averaging 74.7 points per game on a .462 field goal percentage.

So far this season, Guerreiro and the Vikings have posted a 26-4 record, including a 17-2 #HLWBB record, putting Cleveland State at the top of the league standings with just one game left to play in the regular season.
