The Game

The two teams then traded baskets over the next few possessions, until a pair of three-pointers from Mickayla Perdue and Shadiya Thomas gave Cleveland State a 31-22 lead, while a Carmen Villalobos layup at the 2:29 mark gave the Vikings a double-digit lead at 33-22.

Cleveland State was then able to take its double-digit lead into the halftime break, as the Vikings held a 35-25 advantage after the first two quarters of play.

Wright State was able to open the third quarter with a 9-3 run to close the gap to just three points, but a Sara Guerreiro three-pointer at the 6:22 mark stopped the Raider run and put Cleveland State up 41-35.

After the two teams once again traded baskets, the Vikings used a stretch of seven straight points - including a pair of Faith Burch layups - to gain a sizable 57-41 lead late in the frame, before eventually taking a 57-43 edge into the final 10 minutes of play.

A strong start to the fourth quarter capped off by a Colbi Maples three-pointer at the 7:48 mark kept a double-digit lead for the Vikings at 62-48, before another Raider scoring run closed the gap to single digits just over two minutes later.
