The Game
After gaining a 22-15 edge after the first quarter of action, the Vikings were quickly able to extend their lead to double-digits to begin quarter two, as back-to-back layups from Mickayla Perdue put the score at 26-15 just 1:34 into the frame. A Perdue three-pointer just over one minute later extended the Cleveland State lead to 29-15, before the Roos responded with a mini 5-0 run of their own that trimmed the Viking lead back to single-digits at 29-20.

Another Perdue basket at the 6:16 mark stopped the Kansas City run and put the Vikings back up by double-digits, while a Carmen Villalobos jumper on the following CSU possession put Cleveland State up 33-20 midway through the quarter.

The Vikings were then able to hold their double-digit lead for the majority of the frame, going into the halftime break with a 42-31 advantage.

Cleveland State carried its momentum into the third quarter, as a 9-0 run with baskets from Colbi Maples, Jordana Reisma and Sara Guerreiro over the opening 2:59 put the Vikings up by 20 points at 51-31.

The two teams traded baskets over the next few possessions, until a 10-4 run for the Vikings to end the frame put Cleveland State up 64-42 heading into the final 10 minutes of action.

The Vikings were then able to hold their sizable advantage throughout the final quarter - including stretching it to 29 points at 78-49 on a Maples layup - closing out the contest with the 82-55 victory.
