Leo & Reisma Sweep #HLWBB Weekly Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After leading the Cleveland State women's basketball team to a 2-0 start in Horizon League play last week, Destiny Leo and Jordana Reisma have been recognized as the #HLWBB Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively. This marks the second weekly honor for both Leo and Reisma this season, while it is the first time that the same team has picked up both accolades in the same week.

Last time out, Leo and Reisma helped the Vikings pick up back-to-back wins against Oakland (77-54) and Detroit Mercy (86-30), extending their current win streak to seven straight games and remaining undefeated inside the Wolstein Center this season.

Leo averaged 21.5 points per game on a .600 clip from the field on the week, leading the Viking offense in both games. She opened the week with 19 points on 6-for-12 from the field – including five three-pointers  - against Oakland, while she followed that up with 24 points on 9-for-13 shooting against Detroit Mercy.

The junior also combined for three assists, five steals and one blocked shot, while going 5-for-5 from the free throw line on the week.

Leo is now averaging 17.8 points per game to rank second among #HLWBB players, while leading the league in free throw percentage (.963) and three-point percentage (.387).

Reisma averaged 6.5 points and 2.0 rebounds through the two #HLWBB games last week, playing 27.0 minutes per game off the bench. The freshman opened league play with five points and two rebounds against Oakland, and followed that up with eight points – on a perfect 4-for-4 effort from the field – two rebounds and two blocked shots against Detroit Mercy.

She currently leads the team and ranks second in the league with 13 blocked shots on the year, and has posted at least one block in six of the eight games so far this season. Reisma has helped the Vikings average 6.38 blocks per game so far this year, ranking sixth nationally through the first four weeks of play.
