Leo & Dumas Earn All-Horizon League Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Following the 2021-22 women's basketball regular season, the Horizon League announced its postseason honors Monday, with Cleveland State's Destiny Leo and Nadia Dumas earning #HLWBB accolades. The 2022 #HLWBB Postseason honors are voted on by all 10 head coaches.

Leo was named to the All-Horizon League First Team, while Dumas earned a spot on the All-Horizon League Third Team.

Leo was named to the All-League First Team for the first time in her career, after leading the Vikings and spending the majority of the season at the top of the league standings averaging 18.6 points per game. Through 23 games played this year, Leo has notched 10 20-point performances, including a pair of 30-point efforts. 

In addition, Leo has been one of Cleveland State's most efficient shooters on the year, ranking fifth among league players with a .442 field goal percentage and second with a .908 clip from the free throw line. Leo's .908 clip from the charity stripe currently stands as a CSU Single-Season record, as she has gone 109-for-120 from the free throw line so far this year. 

Leo has also combined for a team-best 56 assists on the year, along with 32 steals and 15 blocked shots, ranking in the top-15 among league players in all three categories. Leo has appeared in the starting lineup through all 23 contests she has played in this year, averaging a league-high 34.8 minutes per game.

Leo is the 15th Viking to earn a spot on the All-League First Team.

Dumas earned All-League accolades for the first time in her career after finishing regular season play averaging 12.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocked shots per game. Among league players, Dumas ranks in the top-15 in all three categories – scoring, rebounding and blocks. Entering tournament play, Dumas has tallied double-digit points in 15 of the last 18 games, including back-to-back 20-point performances against RMU and Oakland. 

Through 24 games this season, Dumas leads the Vikings with a .517 field goal percentage, while she currently ranks third in the CSU Career Record Book with a .526 field goal percentage throughout her time as a Viking. 

Dumas also ranks eighth in the CSU Career Record Book with 82 blocked shots, including 30 that she has tallied this year. Earlier this season, Dumas played in her 100th career game as a Viking, and has appeared in the starting lineup on 77 occasions.

Dumas is the second Viking to earn a spot on the All-League Third Team.
