Cleveland State Women’s Basketball Set To Host National Girls & Women In Sports Day On Thursday

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team is set to host this season's National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) on Thursday, February 24 in conjunction with its Horizon League matchup against Milwaukee.

NGWSD events are slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. on the concourse of the Wolstein Center, with tip-off between the Vikings and Panthers set for 7:00 p.m.

Admission is FREE for all to attend the NGWSD events and basketball game, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m.

National Girls & Women in Sports Day is powered by the Women's Sports Foundation, and was created to acknowledge the accomplishments of female athletes, recognize the influence of sports participation for women and girls, and honor the progress and continuing struggle for equality for women in sports. This season marks the 36th annual celebration of the nation-wide event, and is the kickoff for the 50th anniversary of Title IX.

Prior to Thursday's game against Milwaukee, there will be various campus departments and local groups hosting educational and interactive opportunities on the concourse, exploring whole health and wellbeing.

If you are interested in being part of NGWSD please contact Leslie Masterpaul at l.masterpaul@csuohio.edu or CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Throughout Thursday's NGWSD events and the Cleveland State vs. Milwaukee women's basketball game, the Cleveland State Department of Athletics hopes to celebrate and inspire girls and women to play, be active and realize their full power!
